“Sargan eight “ Train
Routing:
Mokra Gora – Sargan – Mokra Gora
Mokra Gora - Dobrun (in Bosnia) – Mokra Gora

One of the most beautiful railroads in the world until 1974 was going through Mokra Gora and the valleys all over the sides of Tara, Zlatibor and Šargan mountains. On the railway, which was connecting Belgrade with Sarajevo and Dubrovnik, navigated the train "Ćira". For a period of 50 years this railway kept the doors to Europe open for Mokra Gora. However, because of progress and social development, steam engines and straight tracked railways became a part of history. Unfortunately, this destiny also stands for the world's unique Šargan "eight". The last time that the train passed through Šargan as a means of public transport was on the 28th of February 1974.  In 1999, the train was completely restored along a length of 15.5 km, 78 years after the original construction and after 30 years of disuse. Once again one can enjoy a ride in a train pulled by an unforgettable steam engine trough 22 tunnels, mastering an altitude difference of over 300 meters along the way.
